July 2024
There was as surprisingly large attendance for the start of the Summer Holiday season, with several members selling surplus items, and more displaying their work or aquisitions. Details of some of the items shown today are below.
David Jones brought a selection of facinating 00 gauge military wagons and an armoured loco. (Yes, this is supposed to be NG but we made an exception here!) The armoured loco was built on a collet chassis, one of the wagons is from Palestine and the others are generally turn of the century from the 2nd Boar war period.
Alan Martin showed off his Drewy railbus made from an A1 models kit and an unknown n guage chassis.
Alan also presented a rake of Porterhouse Models comprising a freelance loco on Kato bo bo chassis and several four wheel coaches.
Steve showed a few "works in progress", including this Dolgoch 4Ds kit on a Bachman Rheanas chassis.
These two are also Steve's. The top one is a Westcliffe Workshop's Douglas on a Percy chassis and the lower one is a 40 year old diesel (probably a Chivers kit) now being rebuilt on a new Kato chassis.
Charlie Forbes continued his recent theme of large NG Diesel locos with this monster freelance machine made from a shortened Hornby Class 58 body with cabs from a Revell East German Class 221 kit, motorised by a minitrix chassis.
And this is Charlie's very nice collection of Ratio coach side conversions.
