June 2024

A good number of members and new members came to the June 28th meeting at Portland College Cafe. One member brought a number of railway books for sale - bargains were eagerly snapped up! And, as usual, members bought along their latest models or acquisitions for comment and inspiration. Some are shown below.

Charlie Forbes showed us some assorted freelance 009 NG motive power - two from Gary Whiting’s estate via the 009 Society sales team, and the green one in the centre made by Charlie himself. Some serious haulage power here!

Charlie also bought along his very neat adaptation of a couple of Airfix/Dapol SG Cattle Wagon kits into a single 009 NG bogie cattle wagon. Several members muttered about copying this idea .....

This is a "work in progress" 009 Roxy Mouldings Hampton loco kit on a Percy chassis, assembled by Andy Bailey.

Andy also bought along his 009 home printed test prints of an Indian State Military Railway  Bagnal 2-4-2 loco, intended for an NDrive Chassis.

Steve Flanaghan displayed an 009 online purchase - what we all agreed was a Ruston loco on a kato chassis. This is for Steve's mine tramway layout.

Shown here are some 7mm scale narrow gauge modelling by Phil Toone. The loco is an O14 Nonneminstre Models O&K diesel with a wagon (originally a Roy Link kit) plus a weathered oil tank.

Roger Simpson bought in two of his his long rumoured 009 coaches, which are finally complete apart from the lettering. One is the Chivers Finelines Innisfail Tramway Coach, and the other is an adaption of the Ratio GWR Composite coach sides from Dundas Models.
