May 2024
There was a smaller crowd for our May meeting, but what we lacked in numbers was made up for by the quality of the chat. See the photos below for some of the models brought along.
Andrew Glover brought along a diminutive 009 Salford Models Peckett 0-4-0. This was previously owned by Gary Whiting and bought from the 009 sales team). It is understood that it was assembled on a hand built chassis and painted by Brian Clarke, the owner of Salford Models. It just purred round the test track!
Roger Bugg brought an 009 3D print of the Talyllyn Railway “Midlander” on a Japanese chassis, sourced from Plaza Japan. This operates under radio control, as is usual for Roger’s models, and amusingly propelled itself across the tabletop without rails. No problems with dirty track for this loco!
This lovely set of 0n16.5 Talyllyn Railway models were designed and home printed by one of our members. The set includes Edward Thomas (on a static chassis), a coach and two slate wagons, the latter two with home printed curly spoke wheel insets on proprietary wheel sets. We all drooled over these.....
One member brought along a lovely home printed model of an Ashover Rly halt in 4mm, excellently painted.
