The meeting in August is usually a small one, due to the holidays. But this time we had a full house again, with about 25 members attending. Highlights included Ian's work-in-progress WW2 dockside layout and Hugh's Members Competition entry which he was working on during the meeting, and many more interesting models shown below. Ed and Mel raised a very respectable £71.50 for Models for Heros, mainly by selling his interesting and very useful hand made 9volt battery controllers.
Remember that Andrew Mott is appealing for members to take flyers for NGN2026 to any relevant show or railway interest site, and for any specialist Narrow Gauge Modelling retailers who may be interested in coming to the show to be referred to him at andrewmott575@gmail.com. Hugh worked on his Members Competition entry, starting to complete the working drawbridge.
And this is the drawbridge in close up, showing the detail Hugh has achieved.
Roger B is working on a potato ralway and has completedd this scratch built I?C loco, based on a Dennis Estates machine built by Liquid Fuel Co (LIFU). As usual it is radio controlled on a Kato chassis.
Ian has been developing a 1/72 scale WW2 dockside layout, somewhere in France, which can represent British, Germans and French periods. It featiures a 1/72 scale Tin Turtle self printed on proprietary chassis.
And these are Ian's self prints of Pershing WW2 wagons, mounted on Peco bogies.
And for fun Ian has this mini Shay printed from a 3d file on thingyverse and mounted on a Kato chassis
Ed -had this crochet raibus by 3D Factory, running on a Kato chassis.
And these are the very popular little battery powered 9volt controllers made by Ed and sold to raise funds for Models for Heroes.
Paul brought along a brace of 4Ds Tallyllyn coaches, to go on the Tallyllyn layout originally made by Roger B.
Martyn has this rtr brass shortened autorail from Fairfield set on a halling HOm bogie chassis.
Martyn alsdo showed off progress on his Vicinal auto rail, scratch built mostly in plasticard and on a scratch built HOm chassis - can you see the movable wing mirrors!
Dave brought us these HO US forces dedicated SG locos from the cold war period, made by (we think) Lifelike. The red ones run as a set called “Gen-Sat”.
