The June social meeting was again on a warm day, but despite that we filled all the tables reserved for us in the Portland College Cafe - there are several picutes of the assembled multitude below. Bradley, Charlie, Andrew's M and G and Martyn all brought along some of their recent modelling.
Remember that Andrew Mott is appealing for members to take flyers for NGN2026 to any relevant show or railway interest site, and for any specialist Narrow Gauge Modelling retailers who may be interested in coming to the show to be referred to him at andrewmott575@gmail.com. Charlie Forbes will be co-ordinating the stewards for the show and would like everyone interested to contact him by email at charlie4472@hotmail.com.
Several pictures of the social meeting at Portland College Cafe, as we chatted, admired each other's handiwork, and perused the magazines several of us subscribe to.
Bradley had his test track up and running. To the left we can see his new FourDs kit built Frelance Peckett St George class pulling a rake of Ffestiniog 3 ton state wagons and a Peco Ffestiog brake van. The slate wagons were kits sourced from from EBay. Top right is one of the wagons showing the slate load with washers attached underside to assist with magnetic unloading!
Lower left is a scratch built loco based on a Schull and Skibberdeen loco on an old Minitrix chassis, and lower right is his wonderful eight coupled freelance colonial loco now lined out with nameplates.
To the left is Martyn's Ganz diesel mechanical baggage car model, showuing some progress from the pictures in the April 2026 report here.
To the right is Andrew G's 009 sheep from Tsugawa (though it looks more of a Ram to me!) and its packaging.
Andrew M brought along this completed and painted derelict NG Fowler diesel from ShoreLeave NG Models (left). Can you see the spanner on the bonnet? He also had some reject prints of a geared Sentinel loco they also make (above) which were eagerly snapped up by members to experiment with! The Sentinels fit on the Tomytex chassis (also shown above).
Charlie had this scratch built tramway loco on an old Arnold chassis.
